Moonfruits at The Woodshed at Norwood

Cambridge-Narrows, NB | June 15 | 7pm | $25

Ottawa-based folk outfit Moonfruits are excited to be hitting the road and sharing their new album, ‘Salt’, a record whose guiding light is transformation – physical, spiritual, political. Expect heartfelt harmonies with guitar, banjo, glockenspiel and chord organ accompaniment.

Salt explores what it means to live, dream and raise a family in an era of climate change and deepening socio-economic inequality — it tells the stories of family and the kinds of communities Moonfruits hopes to help build. Singing and storytelling mainly in English, the band always shares some of their favourite French original and trad tunes along the way in a show that’s equal parts intimate and celebratory.

More About Moonfruits

Living and working on the unceded, unsurrendered Territory of the Anishinaabe Algonquin Nation, Moonfruits – partners Kaitlin Milroy and Alex Millaire – are bilingual makers of contemporary folk music.

A compelling voice in contemporary Canadian folk music, they have toured across Canada, the US and Europe, weaving together song and storytelling with intimacy and theatrical flair. Moonfruits transport audiences with a tender and powerful live show that elevates the stuff of everyday life.

“... a tremendous live act. They bring an emotional passion and authenticity that truly makes their show come alive ... they absolutely brought the house down.” Jan Hall, Folk Roots Radio

“... the future of roots music is in good hands.” — Heather Kitching, Roots Music Canada
